Varist is leading a paradigm shift to behavioral and heuristic analysis and closing the gap on unknown malware. We are pushing beyond the limitations of sandbox technologies to provide file analysis on a massive scale.
Data privacy is a critical element of Varist technology. In recent years we have observed cloud reliance increasing rapidly, where content is passed on to third-party services for analysis and threat hunting. We seek to maintain superb detection efficacy and full-performance analysis without sacrificing the privacy of those we protect.
Our History
Varist is rooted in Iceland and has, through continuous innovation, protected customers from malware for over 30 years.
In 2012, Commtouch (later named Cyren) acquired the Anti-Malware technology from its Icelandic founder, with operations and development remaining in Iceland.
In 2023, Varist, in partnership with OK, a leading IT service provider in Iceland, and former employees of Cyren, acquired the anti-malware business assets from Cyren. Varist is co-owned by employees who have over 250 years of combined experience in anti-malware technology and services.
